How do I sign up as a tutor?
Signing up is simple and secure with SingPass. Just click “Become a Tutor” on our homepage and log in with SingPass to get started. From there, fill out your profile, list your subjects, set your rates, and upload a verification document (NRIC/FIN). We highly recommend adding a short introductory video to help you stand out. You’ll be live once approved!.
Do I need to be MOE or NIE trained?
No, but it’s a bonus. We welcome passionate tutors from all backgrounds—graduates, experienced tutors, or professionals with subject-matter expertise. MOE/NIE credentials will be highlighted on your profile.
Can I choose my own rates?
Yes! You’re free to set your hourly rates. Zipply provides a market rate guide to help you stay competitive.
Is there a commission or service fee?
Yes, Zipply charges the first lesson fee to cover operational costs, secure payments, and platform support. After that, 100% of subsequent lesson fees go to you—so you can start building your student base and growing your income faster.
How do I get students?
Once your profile is verified and live, students can find you through our smart search filters. You can also respond to parent messages and post availability slots to get noticed.
What if a student cancels last minute?
You set your own cancellation policy—either 12 or up to 72 hours. Make sure this is clear on your profile. If a student no-shows, you may be eligible for a partial or full session fee. Please submit all relevant documentation when raising a claim.
Do I have to teach online?
Nope! You decide whether to teach in person, online, or both. Just indicate your preferences on your profile.
How do I build a strong profile?
Use a friendly photo, write a clear teaching bio, list your qualifications, and showcase your strengths. Don’t forget to ask happy students to leave reviews!
What if I have a dispute with a parent?
